Landesliga FZ – Matchday 12

Motherland Berlin SC 2 – 0 TC Glimmer

Motherland Berlin SC secured an important three points at home with a well-earned 2-0 victory over TC Glimmer, thanks to second-half goals from Sherifdeen Babalola and Joseph Ihekaibeya.

Coach Adedeji Adejumo’s side started the game with intent, dominating possession but struggling to create clear-cut chances in a tightly contested first half. Both teams canceled each other out in the midfield, leading to a goalless opening 45 minutes.

Motherland broke the deadlock early in the second half. In the 51st minute, Promise Uwuigbe threaded a perfect pass to Sherifdeen Babalola on the edge of the box. Babalola showed composure and skill, dribbling past a defender before firing a precise shot into the bottom corner to give us the lead.

We continued to press for a second goal, creating multiple opportunities but failing to capitalize until the 88th minute. Sherifdeen Babalola turned provider, delivering a spectacular acrobatic pass to Joseph Ihekaibeya near the halfway line. Joseph embarked on a remarkable solo run, holding off three defenders before slotting the ball past the goalkeeper to score his first goal of the season in just his second appearance.

It was a solid team performance that keeps Motherland Berlin SC firmly in the hunt for success this season. The team now turns their attention to next weekend’s crucial away clash against title contenders SFC Friedrichshain IV.
